I’ve released a new, free guided meditation audio.
This is a lovingkindness meditation, also called metta meditation. Its purpose is to open the heart and to help cultivate compassion for all living beings.
Sometimes we end sessions of mindfulness meditation with a lovingkindness meditation. I also recommend doing this metta meditation beforehand. Before a meditation on the breath, a body scan, or a focused inquiry, having the heart open is very helpful. You’ll feel freer and easier in whatever follows.
You can play it right here by clicking the arrow below. Headphones recommended.
Enjoyed this Steve. A nice short way to access metta, also ideal as a standalone ‘pause’ from the day. Sagara 🙂
Thanks for the kind words, Sagara! Much appreciated. I feel that keeping the heart open and warm is vitally important. Plus, it feels really good!
I like that! I’ll be adding it as an example of metta meditation on my blog.
Thanks, Annie!
